The Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) course is intended for:

The CBAP Online Training Course is designed to be an 9-day program delivered completely online, making it accessible to participants from anywhere in the world. The course provides an interactive learning experience, with group activities and breakout sessions after each lesson, allowing participants to apply the newly learned concepts to real-life scenarios. To prepare for the CBAP exam, participants can take advantage of an exam simulation and practice tests included in the course. Additionally, participants have access to additional references, such as a glossary, recommended reading materials, and syllabus, to further enhance their understanding of the subject matter. The course is conducted in English, ensuring that participants can develop their skills in a language that is widely used in the business world.

To be eligible for the CBAP® certification, applicants must meet the following prerequisites:

  • A minimum of 7500 hours of business analysis work experience aligned with BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years, with at least 3600 of these hours devoted to the required total;
  • A minimum of 900 hours in four of the six knowledge areas;
  • At least 35 hours of professional development in the past four years; two references from a career manager, client, or CBAP® recipient; and compliance with the CBAP® Code of Conduct.

These prerequisites ensure that applicants have a strong foundation in business analysis and have demonstrated their expertise in the field.

Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) exam is available for both members and non-members of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

 

  • The exam fees are $325 USD for IIBA members and $450 USD for non-members.
  • The CBAP exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions that are scenario and case-study-based. It is a competency-based exam and is aligned with BABOK® Guide Version 3.
  • The exam covers six knowledge areas with varying percentages of the total score. These knowledge areas are Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring (14%), Elicitation and Collaboration (12%), Requirements Life Cycle Management (15%), Strategy Analysis (15%), Requirements Analysis and Design Definition (30%), and Solution Evaluation (14%).
  • The exam is 3.5 hours long and is delivered online by PSI. The online remote proctored exams require a desktop or laptop, a reliable internet connection, a working webcam, and a microphone.
